A noted architect, during the civil war Cincinnatus operated Shryock's Ferry across the Kentucky River from Woodford County into Anderson County. A friend of John Hunt Morgan, he aided the Lexington Rifles as they went to Tennessee to join the Confederate Army. He also later attemptedto delay Union troops from raiding Lawrenceburg.

Robert S Granger was brigadier general of Kentucky volunteers and commanded the Kentucky state troops. For gallant and meritorious services at the Battle of Lawrenceburg, he was brevetted as a colonel in the Regular Army.
